Tommy K - Have you got the Bottle!!

This will sound mad but if the airbox is in the same place as the 1.6 drill a hole the size of the cold air feed down through the bottom of the airbox and the wheel lining ;) Works a treat

Lozz, if I remember right, there is a small gap right of the intercooler (looking from the front of the car) pull the pipe there and pull it out in the bumper.

I know what you mean Lozz however my insurance wont allow me any engine modifications so haven't bothered with the filters.

I wouldn't put the air filter intake in the wheel arch as your more like to suck up more dirt, grime and water there.

If your thinking of fitting a bonnet vent, then that would be an ideal way to get air to your filter by channeling the air to the filter.

You could use the existing air intake behind the slam panel.

OR

My method was to fit a narrow rectangular air pipe, which was no more than an inch heigh and three inches wide and screw it to the bottom of the bumper. Similar to what some vacuum cleaners have, then attach a hose to it and cut through part of the bumper underneath, not noticable and up by the side of the intercooler and to the airfilter. But this was an idea, never actually went through with it.

You could always remove the foglight if you've got a HLX bumper and fit the forced air induction system there.

Yah i think i prolly will end up using the foglight hole, but will this affect things like MOT or legal issues of only one foglight?

Dont think so, since not all cars are fitted with foglights. I've seen subaru's with quad headlights and they've removed one of the main beam lights for a forced air inductiuon point.

You could try what Paul R did on his HGT or should i say now Speedys HGT. He made vent holes in the wing. However with air passing almost side on it and with the laws of physics its not very practical.

You Should be fine with removing a foglight though.
