Engine stopped.
This might help someone. Engine completely cut out. Diagnosed as fuel pump failure at roadside and vehicle was recovered. Engine management light had intermittently come on for a few months.
Cause was a corroded plug between the seats connecting the wiring under the body to the loom inside. Solved by cutting the heavy (pump) wires and hardwiring from the inside of the car to the underneath.
The plug underneath is moulded onto the wires. Haven't asked Fiat about replacement as they would no doubt sell pre-assembled looms for serious money.
Anyone know of sources for plugs/sockets to do a proper fix?
