General Janspeed or Supersprint?

Ok.. need your help!!

I've decided to stick with getting just a BackBox for now...

I need to replace my Backbox as i bought it with the car last year and it now has a hefty hole in it. I already have a Janspeed one.. and I like the tone of it etc.. however i've never tried Supersprint or know whether it's any good?

Anyone ever used either of these?

Sooo..

Either a Janspeed (See Print Screen)

Or.. a Supersprint (See Print Screen)

Hi Emz

Hope you can help. See below my recent post. What did you decide in the end. Could do with your advice.

A little about me and my Seicento. I'm based in Hendon in London and own a Black Seicento Abarth, 2001 on a Y reg.

Need a little help. My exhaust has been blowing so I popped into a Kwik Fit to have them look at it. The backbox is rusted, has wholes in it and needs replacing. Kwik Fit were trying it on and quoted me £285.

The way I'm looking at it is:

1.) I go for a basic replacement at the cheapest cost possible including a fitting. Would really appreciate any advice anyone can give on where and potentially how much this will cost.

2.) This option I find more appealing depending on the cost. I upgrade to a 3inch? Supersprint. I'm quoting SS because having looked through past posts the SS is mentioned as potentially a great upgrade compared to the Peco or Janspeed. Essentially looking for something without too much noise (Live in a close and don't want to wake up the neighbours or the wife when I'm coming in late) but with a nice low resonating hum.

Would really appreciate feedback from anyone who has an opinion or has gone through this before. Again, what, where and how much would be great.

Many thanks in advance.

My concern with the Supersprint is that it appears to be mild steel. It'll rot out within 3 years if so...............

I personally disagree.

Just to add my experiences:

I know of a Cinq Sporting that used to belong to my g/f, she brought the car back in early 2005 and itt already had supersprint exhaust fitted. Complete with invoice and fitment date of 2002.

Peter from GSR now has the car and the backbox still looks good. When my g/f had it it polished up like new all over and was already 3 years old.

It may be mild steel but despite this is a damn good quality piece of kit.

This may seem a bit weird, but do the back-boxes in the UK exit to the left or the right side of the car?

Over here we drive in the RIGHT ;) side of the road, and to keep exhaust fumes from pedestrians and so forth, blablabla

That Ebay-deal is one helluva lot sweeter than anything I can find locally - about £70-80 cheaper, so there should be enough to cover p&p and still save some. :) Especially now as the € is stronger than the £ (~20% advantage compared to about 6 months ago.)

Just wont do me any good if it doesn't fit, lol.

Lol I don't have any vids at the moment.. I've just had to replace my clutch so maybe now as my cars all fit and healthy again i'll get some vids this week :)

That was my old exhaust though so a little bit stained and dirty lol!

But it's exactly the same make and model as my new one, so how it sits and the size is completely the same.. just obviously my new one is nice and shiny :D
