Ok.. need your help!!

I've decided to stick with getting just a BackBox for now...

I need to replace my Backbox as i bought it with the car last year and it now has a hefty hole in it. I already have a Janspeed one.. and I like the tone of it etc.. however i've never tried Supersprint or know whether it's any good?

Anyone ever used either of these?

Sooo..

Either a Janspeed (See Print Screen)

Or.. a Supersprint (See Print Screen)

Thanks!!

Its aliminumised (sp?) steel, Will out last low grade stainless that a lot of exhausts are made of

Unlikely. Most of the half way decent stuff is 304, which is widely used in marine applications. If I understand the process correctly, aluminising can only be done to the outside surface (to be any use at all, it has to be done after welding or the mild steel welds will rust). So the pipe (or more likely, the can) will rot from inside out.

My sei supersprint exhaust on the Cinq is doing fine after a year.

It's stainless for the end section (box to tail piece). The rest is steel of some sort and shows no signs of corrosion.

The supersprint is probably the closest exhaust to get to a standard one so if you want a bit of noise then maybe its not the one for you in this case

Janspeed is a better quality product than supersprint due to it being stainless. Had both but I like the supersprint for being quiet.

Have had both of those albeit on Cinq's but anyway the Supersprint was very subtle infact not much louder than standard and the Janspeed looked better as well as had a nice noise when using the loud pedal (y)

Although i'd go CSC complete system or Magnex but they are discont..

you can still get CSC cat back but they are very hard to get hold of and the front section has been discontonued,

It is hard to compare the two but on the NA cinq performance definatly was better than the Sportex it replaced and the noise level was better as it is quiet in the cabin but gives a nice rasp out side the car

The turbo has a supersprint back section and this is quite quiet considering what it has to put up with, but outside gives a nice deep note and is still a hell of a lot quiter than the dump valve.

in summary for the NA with the mods it has suites the CSC fine and in looks wise the oval tail pipe looks good. The SS on the turbo is good in noise and probably performace terms, how the whole system restrics performance on a turbo appication i will let you know when the custom system is fitted.

BTW don't discount a custom stainless if you plan to keep the car in the long run they can be cheaper and add performance if they are constructed correctly

Had both but janspeed os on my tubro and supersprint was on standard sei. Supersprint was good, looked nice and very subtle tone.. Janspeed isn't that loud i don't think apart from long motorway journey's can get tiresome round town its fine. Couldn't say about lifespan of supersprint but the janspeed on the tub has many a year on it and is fine.

Er, Magnex! If you can find one................

My concern with the Supersprint is that it appears to be mild steel. It'll rot out within 3 years if so...............

supersprint is aluniumised steel outer stainless internals
had a full system on my old uno or 7years and it still looked new no sign of rust at all

I've had the supersprint for a year ish and its still looking good. At low revs theres not much difference in noise but at higher it gives a really nice sound combined with an induction kit. It definatly doesnt sound like a 'universal' corsa back box from halfords :yuck:
