I've gone and done it! It was so highly specced I couldn't resist! Sorry guys!
It's a 2.0 Selespeed, Y plate with 60k on it. Gorgeous Leather, Bose soundsystem upgrade, precicely the alloys I was looking for. It's just lovely!

The Chavvy numberplate is still property of the old owner (possibly worth more than the car?) When the paperwork's through I get a regular Y-reg number- thanks god, this scripty rubbish is quite embarrassing!

Patch is staying for a bit longer... long live the HGT (well the memory anyway... :()

its a natural progression from fiats to alfas.
just as moving up a size band, as in, to a 156.
That looks mint Ben.

Cheers guys, I think it's lovely too! The interior especially!
One thing I'd like to get sorted is a few carpark dings, a couple quite noticeable. Does anyone have any experience of one of those magic dent guys who invisbly knocks them back out? Where do I find one of those places? Other than that there's a whole range of tiny stonechips that I'm gonna get busy on!
Once I've done that I'll fit some coilovers and de-curb the alloys. Job done!

your looking for a PDR (paintless Dent Removal or something like that anyways... ) specialistm mate, plus if you find a good one he may be able to sort the scuffs etc mate

Insy knows had afew dings removed from his Bravo that are unseen now. I think the results of there work can be found on his website, insyworld or something. Or you could Ask him.

Ben,

The local ChipsAway guy for Bury St Edmunds is often in our car park doing someones car. He seems to have a very good reputation.

re

I watched a pdr guy ease out a ding in a wing of a seat ibiza that was on a fold in the panel to perfection at a show once, was amzing the crowd that grew just watchign him work it out!

was easily worth the £60 whatever the guy paid though! a bodyshop woudl def have been a new wing or filler/fibreglass.

Yeah had mine done a year or so ago by Dent Direct. They cover SE London/Kent so not much use to you.

Essentially as long as its not a crease and hasn't been in there for years, dents can be massaged out. One of my dents was bordering on a crease, its not 100% perfect but its a darn sight better than it was! Some other dents I had are no longer visable - totally removed :)

Wave some cash instead of a credit/debit card and you'll find they'll do it for a few quid less.

Gorgeous mate.

Though I would be extremely torn between gettin one with all the toys or savin for a bit longer and spending a bit more on the face lifted version.

Whats the price difference/year between the older and newer shape?

A good point for me is that the facelift version only came in last year (Or not too long ago anyway!) therefore my 6 year old example doesn't look a day over 2! (Well, if you know where all the little dings are it may look older, but the general impression is it's much newer!)
People (who don't know about cars! lol!) keep asking me if it's brand new, clients say to me 'you must be doing alright for yourself' etc, so it's definitely got a bit more prestige for the money than my old car (considering it's what my Bravo cost me 4 years ago!)

I just looked on auto trader and a facelift 1.6 with no toys cost twice as much as a Y reg 2.0 with all the toys, so I gotta say you made a good choice there mate! And it looks like a gud'n to.
