oko, seems right, but just a different design :).

I just had a practice run on my crashed cinq, taking out the shoe and the elbow.

Is fliping impossible ..... broke one of the springs, but manage to get it out.

My question is, does anyone take out the hub nut, then the wheel bearing to change the shoe, as this give u more space to take the two springs out ??

Also,i'll got this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....m=150218567216&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=005

But i'll got no idea how to use it to take the springs out, as there is lack of room ?

Any ideas :D ?

Thanks

I am thinking , if i take the hub nut and hub out, would it make putting the shoe and the spring back on easier ?

If i do take out, will i need a new hub nut ??

the bottom spring is a total pain in the arse even to take out :( ......

Thanks

It may make it a little bit easier, but its not something i would consider if doing the shoes tbh. more trouble than its worth.

If you do, its always recommended to get a new nut, they are only a few ££, even from fiat. Some don't but i'd rather not run the risk.

If you make a modified screwdriver tool, like i made (linked recently in another thread), its nice and easy to fit and remove the springs, a couple of seconds to remove, 20 secs tops to refit.

Removing is also very easy if you have mole grips as well, though, they are no good for refitting.

yup yup , i have seen that thread, i'll brought the sping pilers, (link up above).

Do u have any idea how will that work ??

I notice the hub nut, doesn't need to be indented in like the front ??? If i can't do it, then i'll just remove it.

I think i will modify one, next weekend when i comes to do mine!!

Thanks

If you look closely at the hub nut, you will notice some markings on it where it has been stamped. This distorts the tread a bit, and makes it a lot tighter on fitting, as it stretches out. Once its done this once, it'll never fit as tight.

Rallycinq uses thread lock on fitting, and i'm sure the stresses his car gets up to are very high, so prob not a problem doing that. For a few ££ per side, i'm happy fitting new ones each time.

Never used those spring pliers so can't help i'm afraid.
