I had a Uno, E920 RNG, for 15 years. I sold it to a friend who kept it for 2 or three years, he sold it to a neighbour whose daughter learned to drive in it and then bought it back after some time. Finally he sold it to a workmate.

I kept the car well maintained and all it required, apart from brake pads, tyres and suchlike, were drive shaft gaiters and a distributor unit. It was a wonderful cheap car to run.

Our new Panda will not be as reliable. The front suspension, for instance, appears to be designed to cost money in tyre wear and joints (and they are not replaceable bits on the suspension arms, you have to have the complete arm!

Does anyone know if the old Uno is still up and running?

E 916 17 18 19 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 & 928 RNG all seem to have been 999cc Uno`s or Panda`s & all lasted at least 12 years (some lastd till 2004!), but 920 is missing completely, so it must have been scrapped (& the paperwork sent off properly!).

sorry :(

How about
708 HOV &
9407 FD?
:slayer:

Nope, neither coming up, so both scrapped pre-1981, or, the number plates are on retention somewhere.

Thanks for looking anyway...
708 HOV was my first car, a Mini, 9407 FD was my 2nd car, a Ford Anglia.

Total cost to purchase both in running order, taxed & MoT'd was £168...

The Mini lasted me 2 years, the Anglia 1 year... then I got a company car... shame they both dead now... fond memories lol! (y)

No problem, I`m guessing you sold them 30 plus years ago!

If you want to check any others I do it on the DVLA road tax website:

http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/Ev...portal.framework.internal.refresh&pageid=Home

...you do it under vehicle enquiry & you type the reg with no spaces.

Any cars that werent on the system when it was computerised [circa 81] wont be on there, neither will cars that were scrapped & had had the log book sent back to the DVLA as scrapped (most people didnt bother till recently!).
