At the minute I am running a single sub off a four channel amp, in bridged mode (so running 3 channels)

Seeing as I have no cash for any decent comps yet (as wheels, springs etc....are all coming first) would it be worth amping the STANDARD front speakers in my Grande Punto?

Also, lying around I have some FLI (yes I know, I know) Comp5's but the tweeters have gone missing and one of the x-overs has been smashed. Even though they are Fli, they are more than likely better than the standard speakers, would it be worth replacing them?

And if I am to amp the front speakers surely the Fli's would be a better option as they are sure to have a higher power rating compared to the standard speakers :/

The Fli's may be able to take a higher rating but they dont have the good seal and solid mount that your OE speakers have. Give them a try on the amp with the gain quite low and see what happens. If they do go boom then replace them with the fli's.
Do you know how to splice into the cars wiring at the Head unit with your amp?

Naa, no idea. I did wonder about linking the door woofer directly to the amp and how it would affect the tweeter sound. I take it the point of splicing at the HU is to power both?

And will the OEM speakers handle 70W and 4ohms? That all the amp will be sending.

The amp will only be outputing 70w RMS at perfect match on your gain with the Volume at 100% on the Head Unit. The less you turn the gain the less it will amplify the original RCA signal and output less power. Does that make sense lol.

Yup, so they will deffo handle it and deffo sound better.

But why splice the amp in at the HU, why not run cable straight from the amp.

There is a set of free pre outs in the HU (L+R) so the speakers will have their own signal. The sub runs from the SUB pre out.

Dunno but its worth a try. If they blow up then use the other ones. Its just easier to splice into the HU. You only really need to go through into the doors when you are properly upgrading.
