Just talking in general the more powerful the car the more can go wrong. Things cost more to repair and are harder to get hold of. But thats part and parcel of buying a performance car. You just have to keep on top of things and budget for higher than normal expendature.

From what i've seen so far, and the few i have driven the extra insurance and running costs does not ballance out for the fun factor.

If you are wanting one, look around a LOT and do not go for any that have been moded in any way.

If you want a safe reliable runner try and get one that has a full fiat service history, and take someone along that knows their stuff.

Like the advice that was given me, stick to a sporting though.

I have been disapointed in every one i have drove so far. To make a comparisom, the last Austin mini 1275 i sold would chew a GT turbo up without a problem. Granted I had tinkered with it a bit

i own a gt1, its has done 134000 miles and runs like a car of half that mileage. if you are serious about getting one then make sure you get a good one and as long as you look after it (let it warm up and cool down properly and keep an eye on all the levels) you will be fine

ps- do regular oil and filter changes too

find a good one and it will treat you well.

i know of a few GT's that have done over 100k without giving the owner any problems.

but i also know of GT's that have done less than 50k giving the owners problems.

ok thanks for the replys guys (y) going looking at one today ill post some pics up if i buy it.
