iPod wire for factory head unit only £10 (but help!)

Its not specifically for the Fiat but the connection fits so I got it. Anyway, it didn't work. So, what I'm asking is how to get it to work. I've looked at some vague wiring diagrams and I think a voltage is needed over one of the pins to make the head unit change over to the cd changer mode. I'd love to hear from everybody cause it has great potential, aux connection for about a tenner.

you should be able to rewire your cable / plug to get it going..
