Can anybody recommend one that doesnt block off your ipod, so you can still control it through the IPOD itself.

Seems every decent one I find has this annoying function so you have to use the head unit and spend hours scrolling trying to find your music!

Thanks

To use the ipod for controlling the playback you can only buy a HU with 3,5mm jack and connect the ipod using a 3,5mm to 3,5mm headphone jack, or you can buy a HU with RCA (chinch) line in at the back and use a 3,5mm headphone to rca cable to connect.

Looks like I'll be sticking with my orginal HU and tape to headphone jack.

Cant beat good old technology.

Cheers

What about a Belkin Tunecast transmitter?

Just switch to AUX ;)
This way i control the head unit from my ipod touch.
Only the volume is still controlled by the head unit, but in truth it works better that way.

??

Not sure what you mean by this??
Do you mean its still connected by an IPOD lead or by headphone jack?

My mate has an Alpine head unit that is ipod only and allows you to control the ipod, through the stereo controls, in an identical way to that of the ipod. The only negative is it has no CD drive which is what put me off....

I have a unit that allows me to choose how to control my iPod. Its a Pioneer unit with a menu function that selects between iPod control or head unit control. In either function all the track information is displayed on the HU.

However, its a double din unit so will be no good for the Brav. Have a ganders at the Pioneer units as I presume they should all have the same functions.

I meant connected by ipod cable.

My JVC radio and specific ipod cable wouldn't recognize the ipod touch since it's flash drive and it only recognizes hard drive ones.

But if i switch to AUX it starts working.
