Technical iPhone USB Connection - Plays but no sound

We have just got a 2014 Fiat 500L with uConnect and USB iPod/iPhone connectivity for music playback. My iPhone connects fine by USB and the music is displayed on the uConnect screen and starts playing but there is no sound a all. I’ve tried different sources of music on the phone itself but nothing produces any sound.

Our other car, a 2012 Nissan Note connects to the phone and plays music without issue by USB so know it’s nothing to do with my phone. I’ve tried multiple cables without any success.

Anyone got any thoughts or advice? Do I need to update the uConnect firmware?

Managed to fix the issue. Upgraded the firmware from v4.01.38.00 to v12.00.24.01 and now the phone connects and plays without any issues
