Proud owner/mum of a blue 97 Punto 55SX (5-door) called Christine. Since I bought her 18 months ago I've probably paid as much for her repairs (including head gasket) as she cost to buy in the first place, but I'm determined to make her right. I was reading the "what do you love about your Punto" thread and so much of it rings true - I love her personality, the way she loves a good revving on the A4, and how Tardis-like she really is.

MOT today, hopefully with minimal repairs needed (fingers crossed for just the sidelight I know has gone). Trying to persuade Christine's Dad to take more responsibility for her welfare, so he gets to pick her up tonight.

So if you're in West London and you see me (mardi gras beads hanging from the mirror, Darwin Fish on the back - used to have a "Support a United Pangaea" bumper sticker but someone nicked it! ), say hi!

Failed on lights (knew a sidelight needed replacing), windscreen wipers (leak in one of the tubes) and brakes - eek!! New pads for the front, back "needs a bit more work". Not entirely sure what that means in mechanic-speak, and they haven't said how much it will cost, but promised Christine's Dad that they'd do it as cheaply as they could to get it to pass the MOT (hopefully without cutting any corners).

Not used these guys before - I usually take her over to the Gonnella Brothers in Catford for some extra-special Italian lovin', but I ran out of time (and inclination to drive the South Circular this morning).
