Did any models of panda come with an interior light in the rear? Getting my dog in and out of the back of the car at night is like looking into a black hole. The interior light in the front just doesn’t reach the back of the car. It may be because I have the directional map reader interior light in the front. I have replaced the boot light with an LED and that is a game changer but need a solution for the back of the car.

No. Although the ‘van’ version (not sold here) seems to show one in ePer. The versions with a single front light rather than the twin ‘map reading’ type are better. Later models only came with that ‘lesser’ light but which does let a bit more light reach the back (not much though as the seats and headrests block most of it). I added a genuine Fiat LED upgrade to mine which helps a bit, but with downside it can be too bright in the front :)

See here and the posts that follow it. The photo in my post is upside down — something that used to happen a lot in this forum owing to the way the iPhone recorded orientation of the camera - now fixed)

Like you I found the panda very dark at the back, so added 2 shoulder lights and lighting for the footwells. All are led so draw less than the original filament lamp.
I created a loom for the floor light fed from the front centre light and routed down the left screen pillar and along the centre console.
The loom for the roof has to avoid the airbags so goes across the middle. All wires wrapped in anti-rattle flame retardent tapes as the manufactures use.
It makes a big difference to the light level in the back seat area.

Cool! You make it sound easy, but running wires invisibly +safely around the inside of a car (never mind affixing the light fittings neatly +securely) is not a simple job - I’d end up totally trashing the interior 🤣

It’s a really nice job. I may have a go at something similar when I get a bit of spare time.

I'm also interested in doing something similar. Where did you obtain the anti-rattle fire-retardant tape please? Does it go under a name?
