Just bought a HGT a few weeks back and just a few days ago the internal fan for the heater began making a nasty clicking noise. Usually if something is lodged in there the full on fan would blow it out but not in this case. Maybe it's just a faulty motor. Has anyone had any probs in this area and is it easy to get at and fix yourself?

Cheers

??

Not sure on the prob you have. Had the same thing in a Pug i had but didnt bother to fix it.

However welcome to the Bravo club.

Hi Ryan,

Not sure what a Pug is, Punto maybe?

Still have my previous car aswell -

FOR SALE: 92/J VAUX ASTRA 1.4 LS £1250 100,000 MILES

If anyones interested.

Have you had your HGT for long? Any probs I should look out for?

Cheers for replying.

HGT

Youve got a serious bargain there mate!

Gutted i didnt find that myself. I paid 6200 for my S98 with 22k, fully loaded, leather, Hseats, aircon etc last june. There was one the same as mine in autotrader this week. Same mileage £7k

Has been faultless other than the original exhaust fell off. A common problem. I replaced it with a SS as the standard is almost as expensive.

Other than that, i seriously enjoy my HGT

A Pug is a Peugeot by the way (think thats how to spell it)

These were the costs posted on this site back in Nov

Glass's guide says:

2000 X 9380 7730 7470 7280 14000

Parkers says:

(looks like Good and Fair are mixed up??)

Thanks

HGT

I didn't get the leather, which was a bit of a bummer, or the sunroof but hey you can't have everything! Lots as though we both got bargains compared to prices posted in the Parkers Guide.

Glad to hear you've only had your exhaust fall and not the 101 problems that other guys having.

Girlfriends nicked the Fiat today - I've got to drive back in an Astra, Arse!

Cheers

HGT Fuel

Bob (and anyone else for that matter) run the HGT on Super Unleaded, preferably Esso if you don't do so already. It improves the performance of the HGT by about 5%.

I tried Optimax over a month (about 8 tank fulls) and the car got slower and slower the more I put throught it. Went back to Esso Super U/L and after about 100 miles the "performance" had returned.

HGT Fuel

Haven't tried Super Unleaded yet but I will certainly give it a try. In the fiat manual it recommended normal unleaded. Are you sure the Super will not damage the engine due to the higher octane ect.

Cheers Bob

Super Unleaded

I have run my HGT on a mixture of Super and Optimax for about 10,000 miles without incident. Fiat even replaced and mapped the EMS on S U/L. I get better conumption out of super than I do out of normal but only by about 1 mpg so it doesnt exactly pay for itself. I don't pay for my petrol anyway :)

Octane level

My manual (for a 1.6) says at least 95RON petrol so putting a higher octane rating in should be no probloem whatsoever.
