Ok, i've had a look through the forum as best as i can to find this lot out, but I can't. I've got a 1.6 AS, just wanting to replace the leatherette gear gaiter and hand-brake gaiter.
Am I gonna have to take out the whole centre console? it looks like it, but i don't wanna...

I'm just looking to get the car to an all momo interior (save for the steering whel, cos of the damn safety precautions - who needs airbags) so was gonna replace the gaiters, and then re-trim the interior in momo blue...
Anyone any ideas on how to get the old gaiters off.

Cheers

This is a question I have seen come up a couple of times but I have never known anyone to actually have an answer. Wish I could help, but sorry I can't. Anyone else ?

Then in that case, I will be pioneer of sorts. I shall venture out to my local mod shop and purchase such lovelies of momo blue, and fit them, and report back with a comprehensive guide (or I'll take it to fiat and get them to tell me how they did it)

Good on you mate! I'd like to see how this is done.

Don't forget to take lots of photos and get a "how to" guide sorted :D

bah, i feel stupid. just had a look at the gear gaiter, it's siple to remove. undo the press stud at the top, run your fingers inside, and lift the frame out.

i get paid on tuesday and i'm investing in new gaiters, so i'll give you the before and after photo's and some full explanations..

can't believe how easy it was...
