Inoperable window

A quick search didn't come up with an obvious answer, so here goes.

A guy in my work has just dropped £700 on a V reg 1.2 with 60k on the clock, at auction. It has a couple of faults and I'm going to be altruistic and offer to fix them.

The first one is, a dented near side quarter panel that is fouling the tyre under load. Crowbar, bit of wood and a lump hammer should fix that. The second problem is his drivers electric window makes the expected noise when you try to operate it, but the window stays up. Is this a known problem and is it easy to fix? I've done the door handles on my Brava before so will have no problem gaining access, just wonder if someone has experience of this problem.

Thanks in advance. And no, I wouldn't have bought it either......!

Plastic Surgery!

Hi there,

I believe the glass is fixed to the running gear with a plastic pin. It's possible the pin has broken or become detached. When you've operated the button, can you move the window up and down by hand? If so I would bet it is the pin. Hope this helps, good luck.

I wish I had friends like you!
