Technical Inlet air regulator disable

I just put the inlet filter case back and noticed that the inlet regulator is set so that the air flap is stack open. In this possition it allows air to flow in through the exhaust manifold hole. Sure this is OK in winter but in summer this is not a good idea. I decided to remove the regulator so when removed the air will come from the the normal path from the side of the engine bay. I tried to heat up the regulator but can't see any movement in the lever. So I assume the regulator is not functioning as it should. I guess in summer I am better off without it if I don't know for sure if is working. I'll give it a go without it to see if I notice any improvements in the engine performance.

On Cinqs it's fairly notmal practice to throw the regulator and the hose into the bin (you have to do this is fitting an aftermarket induction anyway) -- doubt you'll notice any difference.

Yes, it does seem a bit faster and more induction noise. But most likely the faster feeling is likely due to the timing change I done earlier. I will be able to see in the long term what the benefits might be. Surely in the hot weather you don't want to suck into the engine hot air from the exhaust manifold area. So is got to be better for power and reliability.
