Injector Trouble :(

Hey All.

Right, I think I have either a faulty injector or blocked injector.

The symptomns are:-

Injector Light occassionally comes on.
Car Stutters at low rpm, usually in 1st - 3rd gears as if not enough fuel is getting into the engine. As a result loss in overall performance.

I had this trouble a few months back, I ran through some Wimms Injector Cleaner and after about 5 minutes the problem had gone.

Now it is back, and I have ran various injector cleaners through but this time it aint going away!

So, Im thinking it is a blocked or faulty injector as said. Would I be right?

If it is, I suppose I am best getting the ECU read and find out if there are any fault codes etc.

How much would it be to replace a faulty injector?

Also ... is there anything else it could be, or is there anything else I can do to try and fix it personally.

Does it idle OK?

Actually now that you mention it ....

It idles a bit roughly.

The RPM are always fine and remain smooth on the RPM Guage. However, the car "tugs" slightly when idling. You can feel a small "tug" vibration.

I have had that with the car since I bought it. Didnt pay too much attention to it. I didnt think it could be linked .

Also, the car stalls sometimes at junctions for no reason. Mainly when there is an excess load on the engine i.e. a large turn thus using the powersteering.

Perhaps all these things are linked?

Best get a diag done, it does sound like a failed injector.

Any idea how much that would cost Tom to replace?

I think my local garage can get a diagnostic done for me.

A fair bit unfortunately.

Get it diag'd first, then worry about the cost.

It could just be a dodgey connector.

ok crashing the post... tom if i am rolling in first gear. does it in all but first mainly. at about 2500rpm its does rev constant. its revs up and down like a bunny hope effect wat my problem..

spark plugs changed. (not cleaned the filter)

Just looked through some of the paperwork for the car, with the previous owner.

Had a faulty injector previously.

Cost £200 to diaog, fix and replace.

And why not?!

How much throttle are you using to keep it at 2500? Or is the throttle closed?

very little. about a cm if that. also foot to the floor in 5th pull but when i take my foot off it start to accelerate faster lol very wierd

filter needs a clean i got the stuff to lazy to do it
