Hi There,
Just got my new Punto evo gp yeaterday in Ambiente white with grey alloys.
Nice looking car unfortunately without the 'poke' that I am used to. Recently downsized from a 2008 Civic Type S which put out about 140bhp so as you can imagine going down to 77 bhp is a little bit of a shock.
I am not 'knocking' the Punto asthe whole point of the downsizng is to save money and the Punto bang for buck provides some of the best appointed models around, unfortunately it lacks the 'pick up' I am used to.
I do not expect to turn my punto into a 'rocketship' however are there an relatively cheap mods which I can use to up the power a little without voiding my warranty?
I was considering an induction kit, and was wondering, realistically how much of a difference it would make?

Hope someone has an answer

Thanks

James.

In a word, or two: You can't.

Why on earth did you buy a 77bhp car if you want performance?!
Like I said, the point of the exercize in down sizing was to cut costs if you read carefully. As a newbie to this site and as this is my first post, I was not really expecting a reply with such a tone, bordering on a bit disrespectful. I did actually ask if here was any benefit in fitting an induction kit. To reiterate, I am not looking for a rocketship or another perfomance car and I was not prepared to spend much over 10 grand on a fiat. Also, the multi-air was not avaliable on the fanastic deal I managed to get, that was why I bought the 8v since you asked.
I was looing for some advice on how I could eek out a few more bhp whilst keeping costs low. You know how it is we are ll looking to save money in the current climate.

Thanks

James

Did you not test drive it?

If you wanted to cut costs but still have a bit of poke buying a gutless petrol car with relatively poor MPG considering the engine size was definitely the wrong way to go about it.

You should have went for a small turbo diesel instead, granted they are slightly more expensive but worth it.

To re-iterate: You can't improve the performance with an air filter, unless it's a GSR which are impossible to source (only available 2nd hand now iirc), expensive and only give 5bhp maximum.
