well i took the green machine out today to test the improved throttle body theres a right difference low down im sure all hgt owners know what i mean when i talk about crap set offs but the response now is amazing it just seems to rev alot more freely oh and i pick up my coupe inlet manifold on wednesday thats when the real fun starts lol

ps i want cams plz any1 i need cams and pulleys

ive been busy with my daughter shes goy severe eplepsy we have bin in hospital with her the last year on and off so i havent had much time


im not just blabbing about the throttle body you would not believe how much you can take out

what did you do to the throttle body? machine it to fit a bigger internal diameter? did you replace the butterfly valve?

its a hgt 1 for now

what i did was :

inside if you look at them b4 grinding there is a big lip where two pieces are joined i ground that off and the ground it from an oval shape to round and i am planning on using a bigger butterfly, but at the minute im consentrating on the head its self for now and am trying to fit coupe inlet to it but ive not got it yet so i dont even know if it will fit yet if it does it will be like having a set of throttle bodies on just not gaining as much power lol well i dont think so anyway there is nearley 4 inches difference between the 2 plus the coupe inlet can be ground and pollished up

i thought id try to learn it myself this time because when people ask me how powerfull my car is i can tell them its xxx and that i did all the work plus now jessica is getting better ive got more time to work on te engine
 
just stop before you mess the car up. making it bigger wont increase power! there are actually some pretty complex equasions to do in order to work out how big the throttle body needs to be for the car to run correctly.

all that you achieve by making it bigger is a drop in power because the inlet pressure will drop and confuse the ecu!!!
 
A shorter and larger inlet runner will REDUCE mid range power.

The HGT hasn't got good torque due to its design. Simple as that.

The Coupe TURBO engine has good torque because it HAS A TURBO.
 
i am fitting my nos to it , in theory it should respond better with the nos on the quater mile

just trying different things seeing what realy does work for the engine its just and by all means i dont mean to offend any 1 but differnt people tell me different things im just trying to see what works for me
 
read up on it im sure there is a lot of info about on the work that you are planning on doing. some people on here have knowlage in this field some just have picked up info on it but dont mess it up because you havent read up on it
 
i am reading up on it bcause im am going back to night school to learn it as a trade cos im fed up of building houses and love building cars the courses are just so expensive so im tring to get as much practice and practical experience as possible and i aprieciateall advice and points of view it keeps all the options open
 
goin off topic here, but what is it you do then?? im sure you could earn more as a good 'builder' than a back street mechanic
 
im a small builder well me and mi dad but i was going into enginering at school and fobed it off cos i got in sum serius trouble at school so my dad took me with him and trained me as a bricklayer but now im settled financialy i want to become a tuner you see there isnt 1 in doncaster at all and i have an internet company called octane styling that i started but had to put on hold so i could take care of my daughter but now she is better i am getting back on track with it and it should be open in a couple of weeks,
all i have to do is set up my accounts with richbrook and pi springs and thats it
 
ive been on the fone today with a tuning company out of a magazine and they said that the inlet will create more power at the top end and loose toeque at the bottom but combined with uprated injectors but brfore i do anything he said im to get it on a dyno to see what the fuel air ratio is so i know what injectors to buy etc.
