As my Christmas present to myself this year, I bought a Sony Alpha A100. Nice piece of kit it is as well.
However, I bought it from Currys, who are not exactly famed for their specialist knowledge and not the best place to buy accessories.. but it was the cheapest deal around.
Anyroadup, I found myself in a so-called "proper" camera shop today, and bought myself a new camera bag, and a couple of filters for the 18-70 kit lens that came with the Alpha (UV and CP)..
Got home, unpacked my new purchases and discovered that the UV filter has apparently been handled by a troop of chimpanzees. Fingerprint city
They appear to have been on there a while, too, as I cleaned the filter and the coating has been eaten into, so it's basically scrap.
I was considering whether to take it back or just bin it (it would cost more in petrol to return it than it's worth).. then I checked my receipt and found I had been undercharged by £10 - pretty much what the filter cost. Poetic justice, possibly..
Cheers,
Plug
