I have a rather scuffed ip pair of headlamp protectors that, if possible, I'd like to salvage. There are no really deep scratches on them but loads of little ones that have made them really cloudy.

Soooo, any ideas on what to use on them as I can't be paying £35 + VAT from FIAT and cant be bothered waiting for another set so.....

Al, use G3 cutting compound mate, its what donny lad was on about, use it like a polish with plenty of water and it will do the job a treat :)

no probs oz,..just waiting for dan to mail me,till then they are anyone's. ;)
but i think a real fine compound like maybe g10 would do it,
or a resin polish..
just an idea.

you can do it yourself mate, will be something you can do easily, done loads of boats etc with my brother aswell as get a scratch oput of a mates windscreen with it (wasnt a bad one just annoying)

the body shop will only charge you for the privelage, for the sake of a few quid you can do it yourself, youll only need a small tube aswell. a good motorfacors will have it, if not halfrauds...

Thanks Al. I should have also put: -

3) They are Abarth ones and Shabash! is not Abarth. Can understand if you've got the full kit on but I have issues with putting Abarth badges on non-Abarth cars myself.

waits for someone to try saying something about my old valve caps

@ Andy - I wasn't thinking of PAYING them for it, rather more as a favour based on the inconvenience of a second visit. ;)

Lol! I'll have a look if I get the chance. No rush anyway.

Cheers mate.

good point, hadnt thought of it like that

think i really should get to bed, i can hardly think straight! i blame Ash for waking me up! (plus a silly late noght last night! bloody gf!)

if thats the case, get the body shop to give them the once over, but get them to do both sides at once so the finish is the best they can possibly be and be as clear as possible, while shes there why the hell not, least they can do :)

oh btw... i didnt notiice anything at all on saturday, and im not saying that just to make you feel better either, i honestly didnt! may have had something to do on looking after mini me (well when i remembered he was there...)

Sounds odd but Brasso works well at removing scratches from perspex.

Sounds cool Dan. You do the deal and we'll swap at a later date, as long as we can get them Abarth badges off. ;)

I've also got a spare drivers side you can have just in case you mess it up first time.

Meguiar's Plastic-X polish?
