Hi there.
Already tried my luck in a german fiat community...
Sorry when little crumpy translated words :)

I have a Idea 1.3jtd frommid 2006 with the following prob:

The engine won't start and the diagnosecomputer of my technican (free not fiat) says Code P0110. And following errors 256 (eyerytime),149 and P0235 (both sometimes). He cleared the codes and the engine runs pretty good till switching it of. After waiting a few minutes the same codes are back and the machine will not start till clearing the codes.
He already checked sensors and so on. A fiat technician sayd the engine-control-computer (in german Motorsteuergerät) needs to be reconfigured completly.

Anyone with further tips around here ?

Thx & regards

Hi mate,

P0110 relates to the MAF sensor - have you tried disconnecting it?
P0235 Relates to the MAP sensor - HAve you checked the live data perameters of the sensor?

And do you mean P0149 and P0256?

hi.

may you tell me the long terms of MAF and MAP ?

thx for your reply :)

Hi mate,

MAF = Mass Airflow Sensor - Its located at the bottom right hand corner of the air box on the top of the engine. Its at the start of the black air duct that goes down toward the right of the engine bay.

MAP = Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. Or sometimes also known as "turbo or boost pressure sensor". Its located at the back of the inlet manifold, close to the firewall.

Thx a lot.

I will forward your hints to my technician to check out those sensors.

Have you ever heard about reconfiguring the engine-control-computer ?

Best regards

Hi, No problem,

I suppose it is possible that the ECU has become corrupted, but to be honest i would be looking at that as a last resort.

If 149 and 256 arer also P0 codes that could be related to High Pressure Fuel pump problems

Alan

maybe all these sensors use the same power or ground wire from the ecu? a problem would then show on all all of them. although if the fault is intermittent combined with different error timeouts it may show different quantities of error each time.

I havent seen this problem on the panda forum when there are more multijets but there is a general long running issue with the connectors on the engine ecu. use some electrical cleaner on these.

It is unlikely the ecu is corrupted, if you can check the signals it would help alot.

Hi.

Thx for all your tips and suggestions. I will forward all thing to my technician. May he can give me more Information about the sensors (MAF & MAR).

I'll come back with some more informations (hopefully *g*)

He disconnected the MAF but the code occured again.

P0235 Relates to the MAP sensor - HAve you checked the live data perameters of the sensor?
He will read the parameters and come back this afternoon. I will post them here.

And do you mean P0149 and P0256?
Not quite clear. He said those codes where described as "non documented error" in his system. But seems not to be P0-Codes.

Hi.

Nothing really helped... now I moved my Idea to a Fiat-Service to get this issue fixed...

Will update you what the problem was or is...

Thx for your help!

Hi folks.

Got my car back on friday and now want to give an update about the problem.

It was the MAF sensor that was defect. Don't know why the car didn't run when disconnecting it...

Anyway it's now back and running, but now we need to earn some money to get the next problem fixed. The car has a very bad acceleration until the rpm rises to about 3000. At this point it feels like the turbo is switched on...
And since sunday there's a new engine-control-Message on the display.

I really hate this Fiat... :(

Thx for your help!

Best regards.
