just doing some light research on the best set up for pure quality in a sound system...

i know there are alot of brilliant brands in stereos and speakers etc. out there, but half my system is already Kenwood, and its been with me since the day i passed my test so id like to carry this on.

what iv got:

Kenwood KDC-W8534 Head unit
and a 600 watt kenwood sub and 400watt amp. (dont know the product numbers)

what could u do to get better sound quality, bearing in mind im running standard speakers. so id want to upgrade

Cheers

the last thing to concern yourself with is keeping all one brand. no-one can see the branding on any of the 7 speakers in my car, with the exception of the sub. The amp is hidden, as are al the speakers. so why worry?

The best upgrade you can carry out just now, is to get a set of decent components in the front doors of your car, and add some sound deadening to the doors. You didn't specify a budget, so i'll recommend infinity reference/kappa 16.5cm components. Expect to pay about £60 for the speakers, and £20 for enough sound deadening material to do both door skins

As buzz said components definatly sound deadening even better i did the doors in mine and it makes a definate improvment is bass sound and vibration reduction speakers in mine are rainbow and there bloody brilliant but they come at a price so if you specify a budget it will be easier

definitely very light research ;)

any thoughts on what your doing?

well i was thinking of some conponents.

what is this sound deadening?

ill probably just stick with the one sub as its got enough bass like, just need better treble(or what ever it is)

dont know much about sound systems, hoping to learn more of u lot lol

google is your friend. search for dynamat, and you'll learn what sound deadening is/does. Thengo to B&Q and buy aquaseal and use that. Its probably 80% as effective as dynamat, and only about 20% of the price. lol. Its what i've always used...

Basically you stick it on the two layers of your car door

1.being the inside of the outside panel

2.and replace the horrible plastic crap that rattles like fook thats already there on the inside door panel

it not only makes a nice thud when you close the doors but seals your door and uses it as a chamber to produse nice tight bass.

Anyway what is your budget mate

no budget. the car is off road as most people know so it doesnt matter. this will be for the future, sort of after summer im aiming to start this.
