Guy hadn't replied to my emails asking if i could go look so i just turned up there as i was in the area anyway. but i couldn't see the car as it wasn't there.

he said it had a problem with the gearbox so says it been away for repair and has been for the last 5 weeks, he tried to call the fixers but they wouldn't answer phone to him, he got his mate to call on a number they didn't know and they answered, he passed phone over to the guy but they said the car was still not fixed. apparently now and again when its put into drive it makes a big clock before picking up gear and pulling away. and ideas what that is?

before i knew about this problem i was hoping to get him to knock the price down to at least match the silver auto on auto trader. he said no. i asked how much would he sell it for with the box broke and he said he will knock price down to £4k. still too much (n):(

the place didn't look like a garage at all was an office in middle of loads of buildings on a farm.
i mistakenly mentioned to him that it could be sticky valve in box and transmission additive may cure it, so be careful as he may now use that and try to sell it :bang:

An amazing price. If that's how things are then my 56-reg Prestigio 1.9 16v must be worth more than the £6k I paid for it 2 years ago (when it was 2.5 years old, still under warranty).

It's a Cromaspiracy.

I guess it's not difficult to affect the "market price" when the population of them is so small.
