Erm... There's a 2011 car for sale about 15 miles away from me and I'm thinking of going down there and buying it, but I couldn't help noticing from one of the photos in the online advert that the rear passenger door runners appear to be rusting (even if only superficially at present).
Could anyone here possibly advise me on how easy or otherwise it is to address this particular issue? I'm concerned that even if I can apply some sort of anti-rust treatment, I'd only be treating the outer surface, leaving the rear surface free to go on rusting. I assume that taking the runners out and replacing them with new ones would involve some major dismantling, which I'm keen to avoid. Have any of you encountered this problem? And if so, is it a doddle to sort out or should I abandon the idea of purchasing it altogether, because if the door runners are rusting then probably various other components are rusting too?
And is the Qubo/Nemo/Bipper predisposed to this problem or does it only arise in cars which (a) haven't been tended lovingly and (b) have been left out in the rain rather than kept in a garage?
Many thanks, like.
