General How to remove ignition barrel

Anyone know how to remove the barrel from ignition?
Iv fitted a new lockset to all doors on my ducato 2006 and now last is the ignition.
Have read a few posts here about it but nothing about the removal.
Heres a pic of what i have to go in

managed to get the old one out theres a release switch at the side of the ignition with key in and turned to MAR push release and out she came, but not that easy to get new one back in even trying the reverse.

Any one any ideas here, please

New one should replace easier than the removal of the old one. If it doesn't then it might not be compatible possibly

Its a genuine part and theres only one part number for that model.
You probably have in in parking light position instead of off. when you push in the little button on the barrel it goes an extra position for parking lights. Or the switch rotated then you were removing the old one. Compare the alignment of the old and new locks.
