Hey,

I owe a petra (Palio sedan) 1.2 EL .It runs a FIRE 1.2 8V MPFI engine,Magneti Marelli IAW 49F ECU controls the engine management.I never had a rpm meter in the original cluster but now i have possessed a cluster with rpm meter from a palio 1.6, anybody know how to connect the signal wire as i dont have a rpm signal from ecu in my wiring.. i have tried signal from crank sensor rpm works but engine stalls .. i've heard from someone tht there is a signal output for rev counter from ecu, anybody knows which pin it is ? any circuits ? any help on this will be highly appreciated . . I'm stuck on this for quiet some days, and dont want to experiment on the ECU as a fried ECU will be the result of a wrong connection . .

Any help from seniors would be highly appreciated ....(y)

Hellow Dave,

I've tried almost all the wires from the ECU,bt nothing happens for good. The rev counter itself is working, removed it from the donour's car in a working fashion. I learnt from the forum tht the signal wire has to be connected to the fuel pump relay (dont know which terminal) but i fail to find the relay itself. Can i connect this to the coil inputs? because of the dual coils, is it going to give me a correct reading ? the FIRE 1.2L (1248 cc) 8v is used in many vehicles in many countries so any one shud b able to help ? :(

Thanks bro for the lead any way..

Alex / Dunc Anyone pls . . . .
