I just picked up a pair of used (3000km) adjustable rear shockies (spax) I assume they are pushed right in and turned to adjust them. And where do you guys set them hard or soft.

I also got new turbo front struts with new Munros in them and a spare set of front turbo springs. Plus some other bits and pieces.

The rest of the body went to the tip. Seats, etc, but he has kept the doors, windscreen motor/gbox/steering rack, rear hatch.

Spax shocks have a small screw point to turn at the bottom of the cylinder. You can adjust them in the car. I had mine set full soft, anything more was way too hard.

Aftermarket Uno turbo and non turbo shocks are the same.

MMmm, there is a diagram that appears to show a twisting, maybe it is the screw. I will have another look.

OOPS, :bang:just had another look no screw, but guess what.
Does KONI spell spax?

I have Koni shocks, not spax.:bang: How blind can a man be!

Sorry Steve

I have the spax and there is a little brass recessed screw on the bottom of the shock to adjust, currently on 3 clicks to rear and 2 on the front perfect!! some koni rears you have to turn the piston rod to adjust the firmness Ant!

Some people just don't bother reading before they post. :(

How did you adjust them in the end, rawill? ;)

I found how to do it. Take off the plastic shroud/cover and aha, here goes a little button. Press it in, turn the piston and all is good.(y)

See above: I will explain.
I had looked and read the instructions on the shockie, but couldn't figure it out.Not being a smoker or a lollie eater i didn't have anything to do while I contemplated it. So I went and put some wall linings in my campervan. I should post a pic of the van on here, but you can see it on my facebook page.

Anyway, looking at the shockies I wondered if the top shroud would come off, I had tried before, but this time I pushed it a bit harder and it popped off down the shockie. It is only plastic and covers the piston.

It exposed a little brass button, if you push the button in and turn the piston you can adjust it. You can feel it happening. Now they are even and on the soft setting. When I got them they were uneven.

I am about to fit them to my 4 door 1988 60s, which I have decided is going to get my 1600 motor. (it has less rust than my 90 3 door Sting - only a little patch (10mm) just under the rubber of the front windscreen)

some people help out on many clubs, these days i zip through to quick i apologise!! rawill, do you still have to remove them to adjust, never was a good idea, after lots of playing with adjustable suspension i tend to have them slightly harder at the rear personal preference, Ant!

I wasn't complaining, no need to apologise. Thank you for your interest.

Yes they would have to be taken off the bottom mount and then take off the shroud to press in the button to turn them. So in fact they would be no good for a track or rally car that you wanted to experiment with. These will be on my road car, (I hope a wolf in sheep's clothing - sleeper)
