Yes exactly that type. Mine is aftermarket. It takes some force but not a whole lot before it clicks open and stays open until cycled.
Wondering if the part is bad or if maybe the Bowden cable might be too tight and stop it from latching fully.
What I would do is with door open, move the catch to the lock position fully and see if it holds with reasonable force, if it does then it may be just a case of adjusting the door so it shuts better so the pin moves the lock all the way to lock position.
Don't forget to release it before slamming door shut or you will damage lock!
If the door when closed is well in line then as I mention below adjust at pin, not and door sliding hinges as you will create more problems.
You can check cable isn't too tight but generally they don't have any adjustment and don't cause a propblem.
If all that is OK and you are sure the lock is good, then sometimes adjusting the pin to get nearer to to the lock, so as it closes it engages earlier and moves the lock to it's fully closed position may help.
When you slacken that pin a little, it is in an eccentric hole behind the washersso it allows it to move nearer or further away and then you retighten it.
It is largely trial and error , just only move a little at a time and check.
I have done many in the past on work vans.
