hey all, just wanting to know how much you all think your tipos are worth ? because after my little accident the insurance company equity:devil: are trying to say my j reg sedicivalvole with 86,000 on the clock is only worth £270 book price and £5 trade in,to be generous they say theyre gonna give me the whole £275 plus i get to keep my car which they say will cost £900 to fix with genuine fiat parts, they said its an uneconomical write off, will my vehicle have to go through vosa now or just a re mot ?
we have scoured the internet to try and find the average price of a sedicivalvole with tax and test in good nick,i think mine is worth alot more than £275 so i would like some fellow fiat forumers to let me know what you all think your tipos are worth, cheers:)

Well done if you can pickup a good condition Sedici for under £300. You asked them to provide evidence of these average £275 prices? I think they're basing that on the 1.4 then adding a tenner.

I paid £1000 for my L-reg just over 2 years ago.

My insurance broker - Adrian Flux were happy to accept a £1500 "agreed value" valuation on my car with out any written evidence. All they required were photos.A previous insurer accepted a value of £2000 but Ia ccepted the reduction to half the premium.

A half good Sedici really starts at £500 and you must add to this the cost of discs, belts etc to make it A1 - hence a £1000 can easily be reached.

I am not sure you will win the battle however as the whole car trade is based on the fact that cars depreciate over "X" years down to nothing and normal car insurance valuations rely heavily on this. The only exception may be cars 20+ years old when a "classic" valuation may be relevent or where "future classic" status has been agreed along with an agreed value.

The problem with agreed value policies however are that they are normally only suitable for second cars and are available to "old gits" like me!!

The value of a whole car has unfortunatly no relationship with the value of its componant parts or with the cost of fixing or maintaining it.

What is worth dunno, what did it cost OMG I couldn't even say it.

5 door sedici in good nick I would say 800GBP.

My red one cost me £8oo but alot more since that was a year ago. my new white one cost £600 but i have got to spend sum more pennies on it to get it into good nick :(

hi, i have been on to my insurance and i have to find as many ads of tipo 2.0 16vs to build up a price they sell for, that done and all posted off im now waiting for them to phone us and let me know if they have a better offer.we found quite a few on the fiat smiley forum, and the average price we can find for a 2.0 16v in good nick with tax and test is like £1250. an mot failer was£600, one for £800 needed a gearbox.

onto another note ive brought another sedicivalvole !,antz old black one,it had no spark so i changed the coil pack and it fired 1st time(y) the exhaust manifold is cracked and no air filter fitted so its not idling too well but hopefully i will sort it all out,its been sitting a while so needs a good service.

I had a similar issue with my old Fiat Strada it got hit and was offered £300. I protested and found about 5 cars which were sold and also some magazine articles which valued at between £1500 - £3000. They eventually paid me £725 to repair the car which I was happy with. Go on ebay and the forums and find cars for sale, also if any magazines have run articles which put a value on the car then all the better.

I recently saw a Tipo 5 door 16v sell for £275 though, no MOT but looked and drove ok.

wen my dad bought his green sedici tipo 10yr ago he paid £200 and it was mint, and i bought it of him for £1200 just over a month ago, i only found out it cost him £200 after i gave him £1200 cheaky get, but i love it,
