I have an Abarth 5dr with auto lights and wipers. The rear view mirror glass is in the process of de-laminating so there is less mirror and more grey/black non-reflective stuff creaping in from all sides. I am after a replacement for it. But how do you remove the original?

I fancy getting hold of an aftermarket auto-dimming/phot-chromatic replacement so I need to see the fitting system before I can find the right one for the job.

Any advice/pics gratefully received.

Cheers

Andy

DON'T TRY PULLING

It's held on to the glass by a tapered block
wider at the bottom than the top. Slides upwards
but be careful the metal is bonded to the glass and
if removed incorrectly it will pull a glass slab out of the
windscreen - replacement screen

Not saying your wrong, but seems the opposite of what I'd have thought. Does the Stilo's rear view mirror not slide downwards towards the dash? I thought it was suppost to be a safety feature in the event of a smash? Or perhaps I dreampt it up

So, we agree it isn't a pull off.

So the question is, does it pull off downwards, or upwards?

Anyone done this?

Looking at it, the mirror is mounted to a dection of grey plastic that seems to go from the back of the mirror all the way up to the roof. Will go and have another look.

Should it come off easily or with lots of effort? Screen wa new in only 3 months ago, don't want it to break!
