General Hot Oil

Took my car for a run out to warm up today to change the oil. I loosened the filter with the filter loosener gagdet but when I got hold of the filter to loosen it off the rest of the way I cant ever remember the filter being too hot to hold with a piece of wrag. Its only 6000ml since it was changed got me baffled dont know if its normal or not.

Yep, quite normal. You need to just warm up the oil with a short run, if you get it all to normal operating temperature you should let it sit for twenty or thirty minutes to cool down before you try to remove the filter or the sump plug or you may well scald yourself.
