ok got a bit of an odd one here.

Driving home from work yestoday and my horn just went off?!! It wouldnt stop. I smacked the horn and it stopped for a moment then started up again. I repeated this process all the way home. It finally stopped after i stopped the car and smacked the horn again.
Was a bit confused by it all and left it for a bit.
Got back in the car to go out again and there was a rattle inside the steering wheel where somthing must have broken off or come loose or somthing. Anyway it started going again so i drove very fast to a mates where we attempted to disconnect the horn.
now heres the odd bit...
Found the horn (front left as your looking at the bonnet) unplugged the 2 connections on the top and theoretically that should stop it from working i thought. But no it still kept going but only at half the volume. We fiddled about a bit but didnt pull out any other wires and it stopped?!!! Im soo confused
So now i have no horn and a rattle in the steering wheel. any help wouldnt go a miss,
Thanks

Re: Re: Horn trouble

yeah when you pop the bonnet its at the very front left just behind the bumper. But even when i unplugged it, it was still going for some reason. Any ideas as to why it went off in the first place?

Or does anyone know if you can take the centre of the steering wheel off to have a look at whats rattling around?

Re: Re: Re: Horn trouble

Airbag will be in front of everything so if you do decide to remove it be very very careful and i could not sit in the car or put your head infront of the wheel while workin gon it LOL

Re: Re: Re: Re: Horn trouble

lots of cars have 2 horns - i dont know if this applies to the bravo. could explain why it kept sounding after you unplugged it.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Horn trouble

The bravo has 2 horns, both down the drivers side of the car, one above the other.

Follow ALL the instructions in the haynes before messing with the airbag. Otherwise worse case it goes off in your face or you screw the airbag ECU up.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Horn trouble

I have had exactly the same thing occur, once on my HGT and once on a friends ELX. I managed to mangle my hand getting the wires off the top horn - there are two. I just took the damn fuse out as I never use the horn anyway.

i cant remember if there were two horns when i took the car apart, i think there were. here's a pic that might help you, i can't tell if theres a second horn behind where the light should be.
