Hey all :)

I've been driving myself (and my girlfriend) crazy by working on it every chance I got and when I wasn't working on it I was thinking about it (the car!) I started a thread way back in late May (God I feel so silly  ) about valve clearances. Many of you guys replied and I see there are many threads at the mo for erratic idling /stalling/stuttering problems so I thought I'd start a new thread listing what it was!

There were 3 problems.
1. Sumplug suggested Coolant Temp Sensor failed - It had. Thanks mate.
2. The small pipe sticking out of the Intake Manifold was loose and leaking air.
3. Sensor that plugs into Intake Manifold, below small pipe, had broken wiring.

I replaced SO many parts, too many to list (you will be bored!) The last two faults were caused by the wiring and hose being too tight. The lesson learnt for me was to check wiring, connectors and hoses FIRST, before suspecting parts.

I'm quite sure now that my car is rare. Now i've sorted the engine and passed recent MOT, it's time for cosmetics! Oh yeah, and when's the next Event?! :slayer:

Maybe we could put all our girlfriends in touch so they can go shopping together. :D, whilst we keep our Tipos alive.

Mine is being resprayed, and as many of use seem to have done quite alot of work on our Tipos it would be good to meet up if 2008 is the anniversary of the Tipo. Probably the simpler we make it, the more likely it is to happen. Maybe we just need to find a large car park somewhere?
