hiya thought id call in and 1st of say hello to everyone and 2nd ask if anyone can help me?ive posted in the brava/bravo part aswell but im looking for as much help as possible.i got myself a bravo hgt 147,after about a day of driving it,the bottom end went so ive replaced the engine with another bravo hgt 147 lump and kept my management.the engine will turn over but will not fire and theres no spark.theres a flashing key light on the dash whilst turning the car over.... can anybody suggest anything?:):)

Sounds to me like the ECU doesn't recognize the chip in your key, logical if thery come from different cars, the ECU, Immobilizer and some engine bits all have to handshake to run the motor.

i thought because i didnt change my management, just literally the engine i wouldnt need to change the ecu,its sill the same ecu and key that was with the original engine:confused:

And I would have thought so too, but the flashing security lamp sems to indicate there is a failure to handshake somewhere along the line. Maybe a simple hook up to Examiner at a Fiat dealership would enable all the newly acquainted engine bits to speak to the ECU it now has to control it?
