Hi there guys,

I've owned my Abarth 500 SS for about 2 and a half years now, been a member on abarthisti pretty much since I got the car, but seeing how you guys here seem good at sorting meets out and involving us over there I figure I should make an account here too finally :p

So... The basics, its a 500 esseesse, 58/09 plate, so its one of the first batch of Abarth 500s, it used to be funk white with red stickers, but now its funk white with green assetto corse style stickers and a carbon wrapped bonnet/boot :p

Things I've added mod wise... GTT induction kit, group N backbox by magneti marelli, custom viezu remap, upgraded pads and disks to tarox fast track disks, aswell as steel braided brake lines, koni rear shocks, not fronts just the rear, and pro race team dynamics wheels, which I had painted green to match the stickers

Thats about all there is to say about the car really, its quite a bit different to most 500's with the colour combo, a lot of people don't like it, but a lot do, its the marmite 500, anways, hope to attend a load of meets this year, if theres anybody in the nairn/inverness area then give me a wave if you see me

Haha, thought it wouldn't be too long before you come across :p

Welcome to FiatScotland

Got to say though, that 500 is very nice though however, not keen on the bonnet.

Hi and welcome. Can't remember seeing the car at Cupar but then it was more than a tad busy. Hope to check it out at the West Coast Rally though

Robin wasn't at the SICD. He wanted to attend but a driveshaft? caused him not to attend.

Having since viewed the picture in the gallery that does explain why I didn't see it - even on a busy day I doubt I could miss that baby

I like the green but I'm not sure about the bonnet. I'll reserve final judgement until I've seen it properly :)

Cheers for the welcomes guys, and yeah I didn't make the last meet because my drivers side driveshaft was failing, I didn't drive it for about a month incase it got worse and damaged other parts, like the gearbox etc.

And the carbon fibre bonnet and boot wrap were actually completely free, someone hit the front of my car in a carpark after I had the green vinyls put on, and I managed to get the bonnet/boot added as freebies when the bumper got repaired and re-greened, mainly wanted the boot done because around the Abarth badge the paint was scuffed somehow, down below the laquer about 2 inches all the way around the badge, so I found a way to cover that up without repainting it ;)

I'd of prefered it without but at the time it was a free option, I'll let it run its course then just repaint the boot and get rid of the carbon I think, I like it for now though :D

It does look better in the flesh though, I think anyway :p
