hi evey one im new to all this i have an 04 fiat punto face lift so im told thats what its called. i dont know if its just my bad luck or what. but ive had the steering done on it twice and the seat thing done that lifts the seat foward the door seal has gone and ive had a new exhaust my boot arms are leaking and now so is my gearbox. i was told fiat stands for fix it again tomorrow and im thinking may be it does anyone else had any of these probs.

Hi and welcome, plenty of help on here from the Punto people.

Sounds like your car is in need of some TLC, all cars go bad if one fault after another is not dealt with as things break.

You can source some tailgate struts and a door seal from a scrappies no problem there. If the steering, seat adjuster and exhaust are now OK that leaves the gearbox, where is it leaking from, its not just a rocker cover leak dribbling down to the gearbox is it? Look at the top of the engine for damp patches to check.

I'd try a mobile mechanic if you know of a good one near you. I paid £30 for a CV joint gater (inc parts and vat) to be replaced by a local guy here in Telford, proper job done, not a stick on thing, 40 minutes work for him, good value to me. Your driveshaft seal shouldnt cost you a great deal mor IMO.

hi ffoxy i took it back where i bought it from they told me £400 to take the gearbox off and they are a fiat dealer in newcastle they are saying i need a new clutch as well. so i went to see the man who owns the place and they are doing the lot for £200 as ive had so much done since i bougth it in 04 and i had it from new. i should be picking it up on tuesday? got to ring them first thanks for trying to help

thank you dave well im glad to say my punto is fixed its had £926 worth of work done i hope this is the last it has to have done for a long time.
