Whereabouts -- if you don't mind me asking -- are you in the West Midlands?
We regularly hold meets (anywhere from Nottingham to Banbury, so far -- and there's one in Leicester, in about a month...): so I will add you to the mailing list, if that's okay, letting you know when and where they're happening...!
