hi...independant servicing/parts and polish warning

Hi, found this site from the bravo forum.

Can anyone tell me where to get reliable servicing in the edinburgh area?
I have a marea 147-20v that was a bargain when i bought it and has cost me a fortune since!
I have a few sorry tales to tell about a franchised servicing dept and so need cheap(er) parts and servicing.
importantly need new downpipe.


NOw for the polish warning... don't ever attempt to polish the electric mirror side panels if they are black plastic... otherwise they will look like birdshit soon!

Hopefully Whitey will be able to help with your servicing question, regarding the polish I think most of us have found out that the hard way! Polish and black plastic DONT MIX!!! :lol:

i got told by one of the chips away guy if you want to get rid of the white polish marks on your plastic give your car a pilish with black polish, its ment to stain it black.

now ive never done this but i will do when i get round to giving my car a polish. :wink:

Hi, great tip but i've tried this and it looks **** as rather than white marks its actually dissolved plastic. Something in the polish, solvent obviously, eats and bubbles the plastic. Only on the mirrors mind thank f**k.

Mind you all the other scratches dents and cracks caused by stilleto wearing miscreants, sierra glx idiots and generally soft lacquer a la fiat doesn't help....

try Alex gerguson recovery on 0131 448 2121, they are in Pentland Industrial Estate behind Ikea

very good at what they do, done loads of work on my GT and it was cheap as chips

Would recomend them every time
