I am just about to buy a 2017 2,3 multi jet 2 Ducato and have been advised to join here, as this engine can have a few issues???.

So is there anything I should look out for, it has done 41k and I have told them that I want the cambelt and water pump done when they service it (before I pick it up)

Many Thanks

Hello friends!

Get them also to change the Glow Plugs.
Why?
(I won't be changing the water pump either, unless its obviously faulty. Unlike the cam belt and tensioner, changing the water pump is not in the Fiat service schedule, its a LOT more work, and every Ducato water pump problem I have heard of occurred after the pump had been changed

Unlike some engines, the water pump is not routinely changed at the same time as cambelt replacement.

Glow plug changing is fraught with difficulty as they are a slender weak design which seizes in place. They are very prone to snap off unless the technician is patient and knows exactly what they are doing (and even then they can still snap). I would only recommend this job if they agree to a fixed price, as if it ends up being farmed out to a specialist for extraction and remedial work it could end up being quite expensive.

If it is the E6 engine with the dual EGR (most likely considering the date) the first thing I would be looking for is the sign of any soot in the exhaust pipe. If there is, then that would indicate a failing DPF, and that can (will) become a very expensive exercise to fix. I agree with earlier sentiments re leaving the water pump and glow plugs alone. The cambelt is a 5 year replacement cycle. I own a 2017 2.3L 150hp and it is an excellent vehicle. Just make sure the exhaust is clean (no black soot).

Hi guys!
I'm searching for the jack bag for spare wheels changing.
This is usually under the seat of driver. Is missing now....
Any idea where can i find it?
