My name is Smiffie but someone has used that name so AKA.

I am in Wisbech Cambs but born and dragged up in east London.

I just bought myself a little van and it will not start on the key, it will spin over all day and night but it wont fire up.

However if you push it 2 feet and bump it, it will fire up and run like it should.

It seems that when the ignition is on all is good but when you turn the key to the start position then the ignition has been turned off, it seems it cant do two things at once so I am going to call it a her.

Has anyone had this issue and have any idea what I need to change or fix to get her running ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Smiffie.

With respect to the above (and girls ;) I'd say it's a he as girls can do more than one thing at once - it's BLOKES who can't!

Welcome on board, hope that's a simple issue to resolve, not one I've heard of before although in the land of FIAT anything can happen and it's usually ridiculous/unreasonable/wtf? things which do happen. Stuff that shows on the dashboard display then on taking it to the garage shows all is perfect and no error codes...

I went to my very local indie the other day to get the 'Change Engine Oil' warning light stopped. (He'd serviced it the week before.) We tried for 10 minutes and cleared everything (trying all diesel derivatives of practically all Fiats) but it still flashed - then the "Service" option in the Menu vanished (still not come back.) He resorted to his iPhone to look on YouTube for a solution!!!! Only one on there in German so he closed it down. Next day, no flashing light, all good. Cuh.

His response to my bringing it back in, was calling the make "Fix It Another Time" (F.I.A.T.)

I still get the limp mode coming on if queueing a long time in traffic (nothing above 3rd gear, Dualogic box) until I've got moving and it's cooled down though why? No error code again!

Have fun Smiffie!
