Hi folks. Two weeks ago I invested in a 08 plate 500 jtd sport. Drove it for one day and it lost power, and the dealership has had it since! However, they have loaned me a 60 plate Twinair Pop 500, which is an absolute hoot! Great retro engine sound and amazing acceleration for a 900 cc, but absolutely swiggs petrol if my right foot is too heavy. Great fun though!:D

Hi, welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about your problems with the MJT. I had one for nearly three years and it was a superb car except for problems with the DPF (diesel particulate filter). You don't say if you had any warning messages come up on the display but if you want to post your problem with some extra information in the 500 section there are quite a few members who might be able to offer some help.

ps. I also had a TA and as you say great fun but when you enjoy the performance the economy goes out the window.

It took 2 months for the dealership to resolve the issue, but it's now the 1st september and the car is running really well. The problem was that, for some reason, the outlet manifold had coked up and caused excessive back pressure into the engine. This meant that the engine management system recorded a fault, and dropped it into limp home mode. The dealership thought it might be the DPF but could not find any issue with it, so assumed it was the EGR and replaced that, but that did not resolve the problem. In the end, after bombing up and down the east lancs numerous times to the dealers, they contacted FIAT who suggested the manifold solution, and the car has run faultlessly since.
