US driver waiting for our Abarth version (1st quarter 2012, we're told). I've had a Fiat 500 as a rental a couple times already--in one case my reservation was for an SUV, but I asked for the Fiat instead. Every time I've visited Europe, I've been impressed with all the great small cars available. My friends have asked it I'd really want one, though, and now that I have a chance I think I will.
Biggest problem for me is that the Lounge model in the US only comes with an automatic transmission, and I want both a leather interior and a manual. But no leather on the Sport or Pop (and at least in the US, I don't like the base seats on the Pop at all). So I will impatiently wait until next year. With Fiat just coming back to the US, I doubt they'll try to establish the Abarth models as a separate marque--more likely they'll still be a Fiat here.
