Honest opinion? Ok - you paid £800, invested a shed load of time and cash to get it to its current state and it needs some serious work on the innards.

Get it fixed - you'll feel better for all the hard work you have put in.

without trying to sound like an old git (I'm not) I assume you are relatively young? I learnt the hard way that a car may look good, but if the inside don't work, basically you have a good looking shed.

You have got the car to a good stage looks wise, but concentrate on getting it mechanically sound. After all, a car is supposed to go - not sit on your drive.

right ok thats what i was going to do. i have been looking at getting the engine fully rebuilt at a cost of £1300 and adding some better parts to go with it.
its just knowing were to start. yes i know the engine needs rebuilding lol but whats the best things to replace to get the best gains????

First of all, get a decent (honest) Mech to look over it. he/she should be able to advise you on the most relevant, cost effective parts to replace to get it in a good state. Not sure a full engine strip down and rebuild should be necessary unless it has done miles that look like a telephone number or there is some real nasty stuff coming out of the exhaust.

One thing to bear in mind and I have seen this alot coming from Essex, Loads of people boy up their motors, increasing HP, turbo's dump valves etc etc, nout wrong with that, but they forget 2 very important things.

1) GET GOOD TYRES
2) Upgrade the Brakes - Just cos your car can go fast, doesn't mean it can stop! :bang:

lol year i here were your coming from with the tyres and brakes.
regarding the garage that point is already in moshion its been there since
i broke down. i was looking at replacing the head for a gas flow one and also full racing cams and forge pistons too then if my budjet will stretch get the crank done too not going to put turbo on too many people have done that i was thinking more of a supper charger.

Careful with the supercharger fella. Seen a few motors with bits of con rod and stuff sticking out of the block after dodgy fit. It will cost loads to get it done properly, and you'll need to get properly gas flowed inlet and exhaust manifolds too

ta for that theres been a change of plan anyways all thats going to happen is gas flow head full rally cams and forge pistons just got of the phone to the garage were my car is and thats all that needs replacing so happy day that little lot is going to cost a lot anyways wont see much change from 3k lol what u recon??

Hmmmm, have you had your tape measure out yet? I think you'll find the 16V Turbo from the Fiat Coupe should be a shoe in. ;)

Very nice car, sadly under rated in the hot hatch stakes but a nicely balanced platform.

already tryed it its a big job and a lot of front end work needs doing and yes i agree very underestimated little car very quick even when standard

right change of plan yet again have spoken to garage and they recon the engine can be fixed i.e insted of getting new head it can be fixed is this going to be ok or will it make the engine weaker???
