Just searching through the forum for info on an engine conversion, my project is to put a Punto 1.4 GT Turbo engine into a Cinquecento Sporting.

GT lump is too tall, can be done but A SERIOUS load of work + thousands of £ more than likely

theyre are far easier conversions to do than that

Good luck and keep us posted, we get a lot of dreamers in the cento section though regarding turbo conversions so if the reception is a bit frosty it isnt your fault

Welcome to the FF... can't remember who's this is but its a Cinq with a uno turbo engine, so its do-able but at what cost is unknown.

That conversion cost over 7k and still going at last count

Best option is to fit a 1.4 Super FIRE MPi engine. 100bhp in a small and light car like the Cinq will make it fly, and the 1.4 FIRE is based on the same block as the smaller 1108cc FIRE in the standard Cinq Sporting so physically swaps in easily. The UT engine conversion will be a LOT of work and will also mess up the handling as it's a much heavier engine.
