Nice to see such an active forum!
My son's 1.2 punto 8v on a 51 plate has what sounds like a common problem e.g. pots 1 & 4 not firing.
We have changed Plugs, leads, and tried another coil.
Reading the posts it sounds like it needs an ECU and New Coils, found a supplier of ECU's who do an exchange unit for £125 + Mr Browns bit!
with a 2 year guarantee. I can aslo get new coils for £30 each.
My question is ? do I need to set up the ECU, if so can I do it, or does it need to go to a dealer.
I've tried a search on the forum and found some references to reving the engine to >5k revs for 3 times etc. to set up the ECU ? is that all that there is to it, or am I missing something
Any help would be greatfully received.
