Hi guys,

Figured it was time to join up, even though I have been looking through some of the topics already and got some really useful information.

Recently purchased a 2006 Fiat Grande Punto in the best colour... Orange!! Was looking through Autotrader, saw it and fell in love and knew I had to buy it.

It may be sad, but one reason I had to buy it was it matched my racing car... maybe I need to get out more??

I've had the GP for almost 2 months now, however it wasn't all plain sailing, and I had issues since the moment it left the dealers forecourt. The steering felt very strange, really light and made me feel sea sick. 3 days later the power steering decided to die completely. A quick troll round the topics on here lead me to the steering column so I was back on the phone to the dealer to get it repaired under the warranty.

All would have been well if the dealer wasn't a complete monkey and managed to break stuff every time he touched it. 1 month later, and a new steering column, steering rack, steering pump, airbag, airbag connector ring and 3 trips to Fiat main dealer and I finally got it back and it feels better than ever!

Since getting it back, it's had a de-badged grill and the black vinyl done (thanks to the topics again, it looks amazing!).

Anyway, there's my GP's life story so far :)

Welcome!
Look cracking in the orange, we now have quite a collection of orange GP's on the forum now :)

I'm in love with your Mini, where and when do you race? As soon as my salary picks up, mini racing is where most of my money is going! :D

Thanks very much :) Orange is clearly the superiour colour for all cars not just GPs haha!

It's used as a sprint, rally and hill climb car. I race at Gursten Down Hill climb and various other airfield time attack style races. It's rocking a stage 2 1380cc with a scatter cam so pushing out just under 110bhp. Not bad for a little sub 500kg car made mostly of fibreglass and plastic.
