i was looking through previus posts and saw one that i started and in it TOM was saying the reason why a coupe turbo had more torque was becuase it had a turbo, well do you reckon if you put the hgt inlet on it would increase torque? just thought it would make a cheap mod for any 20vt owners

No it wouldnt, it would be far too ristrictive.

Also if the 20v na inlet would have increased torque then fiat wouldnt have spent the money developing one for the 20v turbo, not being arsy (i seem to upset people with no intention to do so) just giving you a logical answer. :)

i know what youre saying but it could be improved on surely as manufacturers usualy go for comprimise dont they.

if you could maybe widen the tubes to the plenum chamber i reckon that would defonatley increase torque, dont ya think

i have had my inlet head ports, inlet manifold ports and plenum ports opened up and matched, how ever the effect might not be more torque, your theory on this part is right but engine building is an ART dont expect getting more air in = more power out, sometimes it can just as easily lose power.

Normally if you enlarge the inlets you will loose a bit of torque but gain a few bhp and vice versa.

Its a common technique in the bike world to improve midrange pull for engines that were designed for top end.
